Traditional Kindergarten Prep is designed to give students that will be attending a Traditional Kindergarten a jump-start on their educational pathway. Traditional Kindergarten Prep children will participate in primary language arts (Spalding), math (Math in Focus), science, music, art, and physical education through hands-on discovery and other age-appropriate activities. S.T.E.A.M. Kindergarten Prep (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) students at Quartz Hill will be a part of an A School of Excellence where they will have the opportunity for real-world hands-on/minds-on learning. Quartz Hill K-Prep students will be involved in a full-day of project-based learning and introduced to coding. Through these experiences, children will use their imagination, be innovators and be inspired as emerging Trailblazers! Gifted Cluster Kindergarten Prep is offered at Ashland Ranch Elementary. Student can be placed in the Gifted Cluster after qualifying through testing with a certified school psychologist. There is a $175 fee for the testing. Integrated SPICE Integrated SPICE is a blended program with all students learning and growing in one inclusive environment. Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year will open on Friday, May 19th. Due to staffing shortages, we have closed registrations at the following VIK Club locations, at this time. If you are interested in adding your child to a waitlist at any of these locations, please call the Community Education Business Office at 480-892-9089 x0. Ashland, Augusta, Finley Farms, Harris, Meridian, Mesquite El, Neely, Playa del Rey, Quartz Hill, and Sonoma Ranch. The VIK Club program has moved to a monthly invoice/billing system. When monthly charges have been invoiced according to the selected schedule for a student, a copy of the invoice is sent via email indicating the invoice due date. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed if payment is not submitted by the due date with subsequent $25.00 late fee charges assessed until the balance is paid in full. If a student does not need to start attending the VIK Club program immediately, please ensure a start date is selected to avoid being invoiced prior to student attendance. VIK Club dates for the 2023-2024 School Year are July 25, 2023 through May 22, 2024 About Us The VIK Club program is designed to support the needs of today's working families. The VIK club is a safe, fun-filled extended learning program available to Gilbert Public School families, for GPS students Kindergarten through 6th Grade. The VIK Club is proud to offer various student activities and opportunities that reinforce the educational programming of Gilbert Public Schools and encourage a student’s personal growth by cultivating life skills, strong relationships, and a sense of self-worth. The VIK Club program is offered at twenty six of the Gilbert Public Schools Elementary Schools. Regular Hours of Operation are 6:30AM - 8:10AM for the Before School program and 2:55PM - 6:00PM for the After School program. The VIK Before School program includes breakfast and a free choice of various fun, and educational activities. Students from 1st-6th grades are released 10-15 minutes before the start of the school day. Kindergarten students are either walked to, or picked up and escorted to the playground by the VIK site staff or a school teacher. The VIK After School program includes an afternoon snack, quiet time for homework, outdoor activities, active games, S.T.E.A.M activities, and a free choice of various activities such as board games, free drawing, and quiet area. GPS Summer Camp 2024 Programs Registration opens on March 1st Dates: May 30th through July 16th, Monday-Friday (excluding July 4th in observance of the July 4th Holiday) Boulder Creek: Kindercamp, VIK Camp A and VIK Camp B Oak Tree: Kindercamp, VIK Camp A, and VIK Camp B Sonoma Ranch: Kindercamp, VIK Camp A and VIK Camp B Spectrum: Kindercamp, VIK Camp A, and VIK Camp B Mesquite Jr. High School: The Zone Hours of Operation: 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Program Descriptions Kindercamp Summer: (for students 3 to 6-years-old) is the perfect place to make new friends, learn new things, have fun and be safe. Our summer program has a low staff to student ratio with specialized instructors for the many age-appropriate activities that will be offered to keep your child’s body active and their minds stimulated throughout the summer. Activities include music & finger play, counting, measuring, fine motor skills, scientific wonders, arts & crafts, sports/active games, computers, toy & construction areas, cooking, and water days. Every week each campus will have a special theme, water day, and an in-house field trip. Students must be independently toilet trained. VIK Summer Camp: (for students entering 1st grade to 6th grade) is a great opportunity for campers to experience new adventures in a fun and safe environment. Camp A summer campers will not swim due to staff to student ration requirement set forth by the Town of Gilbert. Swimming will be offered one day a week for those students enrolled in Camp B ONLY. Due to staff to student ratio requirements set forth by the Town of Gilbert, swimming opportunities may be subject to change. Swim Days can be found on Camp B’s Field Trip Calendar. While on campus they will participate in many activities that will encourage learning, friendships, team building, and keeping active in a fun hands on group setting. The Zone Summer: (for students 11 to 14 years -old) allows tweens and teens a fun safe environment to create lasting friendships, learn new skills and participate in fun field trips. Registration for the 2023-2024 School Year will open on Friday, May 19th. Due to staffing shortages, we have closed registrations at the following VIK Club locations, at this time. If you are interested in adding your child to a waitlist at any of these locations, please call the Community Education Business Office at 480-892-9089 x0. Ashland, Augusta, Finley Farms, Harris, Meridian, Mesquite El, Neely, Playa del Rey, Quartz Hill, and Sonoma Ranch. The VIK Club program has moved to a monthly invoice/billing system. When monthly charges have been invoiced according to the selected schedule for a student, a copy of the invoice is sent via email indicating the invoice due date. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed if payment is not submitted by the due date with subsequent $25.00 late fee charges assessed until the balance is paid in full. If a student does not need to start attending the VIK Club program immediately, please ensure a start date is selected to avoid being invoiced prior to student attendance. The VIK club is a safe, fun-filled extended learning program available to Gilbert Public School families, for GPS students Kindergarten through 6th Grade. The VIK Club is proud to offer various student activities and opportunities that reinforce the educational programming of Gilbert Public Schools and encourage a student’s personal growth by cultivating life skills, strong relationships, and a sense of self-worth. The VIK Club program is offered at twenty six of the Gilbert Public Schools Elementary Schools. Regular Hours of Operation are 6:30AM - 8:10AM for the Before School program and 2:55PM - 6:00PM for the After School program. The VIK Before School program includes breakfast and a free choice of various fun, and educational activities. Students from 1st-6th grades are released 10-15 minutes before the start of the school day. Half Days (students are released at 11:55 am) for the 2023-2024 School Year are 8/30/23, 9/21/23 & 9/22/23 (Parent Teacher Conferences), 9/29/23, 10/25/23, 12/19/23, 1/24/24, 2/28/24 & 3/8/24. These dates will be invoiced during the month in which they occur. Accounts are invoiced monthly for the schedule selected for their child/children and due on the 1st of the month or on the due date noted on the invoice. There is an additional cost of $10.00 fee assessed to the cost of the session if your child is marked as unscheduled (not previously showing on the roster) or a parent submits a Drop-in Day after 4:00PM for the following day, over the weekend or on a holiday. When monthly charges have been invoiced according to the selected schedule for a student, a copy of the invoice is sent via email indicating the invoice due date. A $25.00 late fee will be assessed if payment is not submitted by the due date with subsequent $25.00 late fee charges assessed until the balance is paid in full. If a student does not need to start attending the VIK Club program immediately, please ensure a start date is selected to avoid being invoiced prior to student attendance. VIK Club dates for the 2023-2024 School Year are July 25, 2023 through May 22, 2024 About Us The VIK Club program is designed to support the needs of today's working families. The VIK club is a safe, fun-filled extended learning program available to Gilbert Public School families, for GPS students Kindergarten through 6th Grade. The VIK Club is proud to offer various student activities and opportunities that reinforce the educational programming of Gilbert Public Schools and encourage a student’s personal growth by cultivating life skills, strong relationships, and a sense of self-worth. The VIK Club program is offered at twenty six of the Gilbert Public Schools Elementary Schools. Regular Hours of Operation are 6:30AM - 8:10AM for the Before School program and 2:55PM - 6:00PM for the After School program. The VIK Before School program includes breakfast and a free choice of various fun, and educational activities. Students from 1st-6th grades are released 10-15 minutes before the start of the school day. Kindergarten students are either walked to, or picked up and escorted to the playground by the VIK site staff or a school teacher. The VIK After School program includes an afternoon snack, quiet time for homework, outdoor activities, active games, S.T.E.A.M activities, and a free choice of various activities such as board games, free drawing, and quiet area. Early Registration fees are as follows: $25.00 through June 30th, $35.00 during July 31st, $50.00 August and beyond Consistent Schedule: A consistent schedule needs to be maintained for the entire school year. If your child will be attending the same days/sessions each week (1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 days) for the entire month. AM - $12.10/per day or $52.75/per week (Monday-Friday) PM - $17.54/per day or $74.75/per week (Monday-Friday AM & PM - $27.00/per day or $111.90/per week (Monday-Friday) Pick Your Week Schedule: Attending the same session Monday-Friday but not every week. You can schedule each month before the invoice goes out for the M-F weeks needed by selecting "Change Schedule" on your child's VIK Contract. AM - $52.75/per week (Monday-Friday) PM - $74.75/per week (Monday-Friday) AM & PM - $111.90/per week (Monday-Friday) Pick Your Day Schedule: Attending different days/sessions during each month. You can schedule each month before the invoice goes out for the dates/session needing by selecting "Change Schedule" on your child's VIK Contract. AM - $12.10/day PM - $17.54/day Half Days - In Eleyo as a Non-School Day - An additional $7.95 charge is added to the PM cost on these days and will have to be selected separately in your Eleyo account under a Non-School Day, if needed. Half Days (students are released at 11:55 am) for the 2023-2024 School Year are 8/30/23, 9/21/23 & 9/22/23 (Parent Teacher Conferences), 9/29/23, 10/25/23, 12/19/23, 1/24/24, 2/28/24 & 3/8/24. These dates will be invoiced during the month in which they occur. Accounts are invoiced monthly for the schedule selected for their child/children and due on the 1st of the month or on the due date noted on the invoice. There is an additional cost of $10.00 fee assessed to the cost of the session if your child is marked as unscheduled (not previously showing on the roster) or a parent submits a Drop-in Day after 4:00PM for the following day, over the weekend or on a holiday. Parents are required to save and keep an AutoPay method in their family account per the policy of the program.
