Gilbert Public Schools is proud to offer Building Blocks, a full day preschool program. The program focuses on building a foundation for academic success for 3, 4, and young 5 year old's to get a jump start on learning.
TOYBOX stands for Training Opportunities with Youngsters to Broaden Occupational eXperiences. The TOYBOX Early Learning Center is a program established as a laboratory setting on the high school campus.
A 5-12 year old Before & After school program Program. Designed to support the needs of today's working families, the VIK club is a safe, fun-filled extended learning program for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade enrolled in district schools.
Family Enrichment Programming
Brain Boot Camp Summer School Program is a free summer program designed to address the needs of the whole child through engaging learning opportunities and is by INVITATION ONLY.
Testing to determine eligibility for the Gifted K-Prep cluster programming at Gilbert Public Schools for 4-year-olds is offered throughout the year by appointment only.
Early entrance screenings measure a child’s social and academic ability, predicting their success in kindergarten.
The VIK (Very Important Kids) Club program is designed to support the needs of today’s working families. It offers a safe and fun-filled extended learning environment for Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) families, serving students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The VIK Club is proud to provide a variety of activities and opportunities that complement the educational programming of Gilbert Public Schools, while promoting personal growth through life skills development, strong relationships, and fostering a sense of self-worth.
The VIK Club program is available at 26 of the Gilbert Public Schools elementary campuses. The regular hours of operation are as follows:
Before School Program
The VIK Before School program includes breakfast and offers a variety of fun, educational activities. Students in Kindergarten through 6th grade are released 10-15 minutes before the start of the school day. Kindergarten students are either walked to, or picked up and escorted to the playground by VIK site staff or a school teacher.
After School Program
The VIK After School program includes an afternoon snack, quiet time for homework, outdoor activities, active games, S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) activities, and a variety of free-choice options, such as board games, free drawing, and a quiet area for relaxation.

Program fees are billed monthly, based on the schedule selected for each student.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee is charged once a contract is approved.
Schedules
Parents may choose from the following schedule/contract types:
1. Consistent Schedule - For students attending Monday–Friday on a regular, ongoing basis throughout the school year (AM, PM, or AM/PM sessions).
Please Note:1) Early Release Wednesdays (1:55 PM dismissal) are included in the schedule
2) Half Days (early release at 11:55 AM) are not included in this schedule. A separate Pick Your Days contract must be submitted for those days.
2. Pick Your Weeks Schedule - For students attending Monday–Friday (AM, PM, or AM/PM), but not every week. This option lets you choose specific weeks of care.
3. Pick Your Days Schedule - For students attending a variety of days and sessions during the week (e.g., Monday AM, Thursday PM, etc.). This is also the schedule for Half Day (early release) child care.
Building Blocks contracts with VIK
Families with a Monday–Friday Building Blocks contract receive a 10% discount on VIK rates when enrolled in a Monday–Friday, PM or Monday - Friday, AM/PM VIK schedule.
For all other schedule types, standard VIK rates apply unless specified above.
VIK Closure dates
Please note that the Community Education Business Office is closed during all holidays and breaks.
